About Me: I stumbled across the journalism program less than two years ago, not quite knowing what exactly I was getting myself into. Since then, I have written for the UW Daily Arts and Opinion sections, interned with the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association Olympia News Bureau, and have freelanced with local Asian weekly’s. My work in the journalism program will be valuable, as I want to pursue a career in broadcast or radio journalism where I can utilize both my oral and written storytelling skills to communicate with my audience. In the immediate future, I see myself working at a community paper as an entry-level reporter to gain exposure, technique, speed, and all-around practice. I would love to curate and develop my story telling abilities to focus on a niche market of coverage, predominantly issues entailing the Asian-American community.
